Housing

A Host Church helps provide housing by finding families in their community or congregation that are willing to house Acquire the Fire interns on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.

Each family serves as a host home and temporarily houses ATF interns several nights during the week of an event. For every ATF event, enough host homes need to be found to house about 45-60 of the ministry's workers,

Requirements for host homes:

  • Should be no more than 30 minutes from the venue and provide transportation to and from venue.
  • Should avoid putting interns on the floor for the night if at all possible. However, air mattresses and pull out beds are fine.
  • Provide breakfast each morning interns spends in the host home (Friday, Saturday, and possibly Sunday).
  • Host homes must take in at least two interns.

Why it's important: Many of our interns live on a bus year round and travel from event to event putting on ATF events. Having beds to sleep in, showers to bathe in, and home cooked meals are a huge blessing to our team.

Transportation

A Host Church helps with the logistics of transportation by finding individuals who are willing to serve in one of two transportation roles during the event.

Airport Runner

  • Responsible for picking up staff and VIPs that fly into event. Staff and VIPs fly in and out starting Wednesday afternoon through early Sunday morning. Arrival times may be subject to change.

Requirements for Airport Runners:

  • Mature and responsible drivers for picking up our staff and VIPs.

  • Must provide a large van or SUV for picking up bands and their equipment.

  • One person for each day is needed Wednesday – Sunday, certain days have a greater need.

Errand Runners

  • Responsible for handling miscellaneous tasks and errands that come up over the course of an ATF.

Requirements for Errand Runners

  • Runners must provide their own vehicles.

  • At least one-two people are needed each day Thursday - Saturday.

Why it's important: Transportation runners behind the scenes provide much needed support for last minute and transportation needs that come up. They allow staff and VIP to get where they need to be when they need to be there and also ensure that needed supplies and tasks do not fall through the cracks.

Additional Notes: ATF is not liable for any accidents that may occur while doing a transportation run for ATF. Runners must also have insurance for their vehicles.

Meals

A Host Church helps with the logistics of meals by providing lunch and dinner for the ATF staff and interns who put on the event.

Requirements for Meals

  • Must provide lunch and dinner for Thursday – Saturday for 75-120 people. The meal count varies depending on the day.

Why it's important: Over the course of the weekend, a good meal provides a much needed break and boost in energy for staff and interns who work throughout the day and night to put on the ATF event.

Additional Notes:

  • Potluck lunches and dinners work really well.

  • Home-cooked food is always preferred to fast food!

  • Snacks and drinks that can be available in between meals help keep energy up. [LARGE quantities of water are needed throughout the weekend!]

  • Breakfast does not need to provided for as host homes take care of that already.
