Volunteer Positions

Usher

Ushers perform a variety of jobs at the event. They are responsible for a section of the arena and make sure that attendees sit in the right location. They maintain crowd control and try to limit distractions during the event. They also coordinate the offering pass and direct people to where they need to go during special sessions. They also serve to make attendees feel welcome and answer questions they may have about the event.

Requirements: Able to follow instructions, must possess a friendly attitude, physically able to stand for extended periods of time, able to work in a fast paced environment and maintain calm under pressure, and a willingness to help others.

Why it’s important: Ushers help maintain peace and order in the arena and serve as a friendly face to attendees who need help or have questions during the event.

Additional Notes: Because ushers work in the arena, they get to see most of the event. We advice you to bring a flash light to help you see when the lights are turned down in the arena and to wear ear plugs during concerts in case you are sensitive to loud noise. Back to top

Merchandise

Merchandise volunteers help to sell our ATF merchandise, like t-shirts, hoodies, books, curriculum, CDs, necklaces, etc. A few volunteers may also work at a merchandise booth of one of our guest bands.

Requirements: Able to make sales, take inventory, count change, have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and be ready to encourage others. You need to be able to stand during the selling sessions.

Why it’s important: The proceeds from the merchandise you sell go back into the ministry of ATF. By selling the merchandise, you help make the ATF event in your city possible. Also, your on-on-one interaction with a customer leaves a lasting impression – whether good or bad- depending on your attitude and service. You have the power to make or break a person’s ATF experience.
